# 7.3 Cross-Border and Global Transfers

Cross-border payments benefit significantly from Xera’s private and permissionless design. Users can send or receive global transfers without revealing sensitive metadata to intermediaries, correspondent banks, or third-party infrastructure providers. Settlement is near-instant, making Xera suitable for international remittances, distributed teams, decentralized collectives, and global service providers.

Confidentiality across jurisdictions protects users from surveillance by foreign or domestic institutions. Xera acts as a neutral settlement layer unbound by regional financial constraints. Global organizations—including NGOs, research networks, and remote-first companies—can distribute funds privately without exposing internal structure.
