# 3.3 Unified Address System

Xera introduces a unified address system to eliminate common privacy pitfalls. Traditional privacy protocols require users to differentiate between transparent and shielded address types, often leading to accidental exposure. Unified addresses encapsulate multiple receiving capabilities within a single string. Internally, they include diversified keys and multiple receivers; externally, they behave as a single address.

Benefits include:

* reduced cognitive burden for new users,
* elimination of accidental privacy leakage,
* seamless compatibility across applications,
* automatic routing by wallets without user intervention.

Unified addresses reflect Xera’s commitment to making privacy a default rather than an advanced configuration.
